Sorry for the bad picture quality- this video was taken with Jeremy's phone rather than the video camera. Every time we tried to use the camera, he would stop doing whatever he was doing. He started really walking for the first time this morning, and by bedtime he was a pro! He is definitely enjoying his newfound skill!

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v9.nonxt2.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Dfd11a046687f9c23%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330396716%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D67A344B78360A4F548AAA78247ACF061EE2AD30.5CCB3A7B7400ABCB02BEDCA3EFDDA05569BEBBC6%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Dfd11a046687f9c23%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DGvIAtfzVZ5qaP7LuNeyG1DHWBAM&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Long Overdue

Dear Family,
I am so sorry it has been so long! Here is what Landon is up to now...

-Almost walking. He can stand up all by himself without using anything to hold onto. He takes a couple of steps everyday. We know he could be walking right now if he really wanted to, but I think it's just not quite as efficient for him as crawling.

-Can say "Ma Ma" and "da da". He also says, "daw!" for "ball". He will pick up the ball, hold it in the air to show us and say, "daw!" He has also started using the sign "all done" when he is finished with his food.

-He is into absolutely EVERYTHING! He especially loves pulling the dvd's off the shelf. Jeremy and I have always tried to say, "Ah, ah, ah" instead of "no!" Landon definitely knows what it means and when he is doing something he shouldn't. Right before he does something naughty, he will look at us and say, "ah, ah, ah" and then proceed to do it. My personal favorite is when he tries to pull the cords on the Xbox or tv and we tell him "ah, ah, ah, no, no" he will turn around, shake his finger at us and say, "ah, ah, ah" right back. He is going to give us a run for our money! :)

-We have taught him how to turn around to climb down the stairs and to get off the couch by himself so we no longer need the baby gate. Hallelujah! This is especially great for me considering I have caught my foot on the gate more times than I can count trying to step over it.

- Sleeps and naps like a dream! 2 2-hour naps a day and an 11-hour stretch through the night. Sleep training has finally paid off!

-Still loves food more than anything! His favorites are mashed potatoes, bread, and fruit of any kind. We've tried chicken, pork and some beef, but he is not a fan of meat. I think it's a texture thing.

-He is the biggest cuddler in the world. When we pick him up, he will squeeze us so tight and lay his head on our shoulder while trying to squeeze our arms with his fingers. He also loves to give out open-mouthed kisses to anyone who will take one.

-Loves, loves, loves books. He would sit on my lap literally all day and read book after book if I let him. His favorite is "Goodnight Gorilla" and any books by Leslie Patricelli.

-He has five teeth now. Three on top and two on bottom.

-Has learned to sign "all done" when he is finished eating. He doesn't do it all of the time, but it makes us smile everytime he tries.

-Loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

-Still twirls his hands and feet when he gets really excited.

-Loves to dance whenever he hears music or we say, "shake your booty!"

-Loves to wrestle with daddy. And when daddy isn't around, mommy is the next best thing!

-Still as "sensitive" as ever. Jeremy is working on trying to toughen him up!

He is turning into quite the little man and we just love him more than life!

It's time

So Landon has been army crawling for about a month now, and has been pulling himself up to a standing position for a few weeks. Well, on Monday he officially started crawling. Thankfully we were at Sarah and James' house and they ALWAYS have a camera/video camera handy, so we were able to catch his first time on video! I will make sure to post the video ASAP for our family. Jeremy and I were so excited to have him finally start crawling, but I had forgotten what it is like to have a mobile baby. Last night we turned our heads for a second and he was half way up the stairs. We had such an amazing time! Landon was a dream on the flight. I was worried how the pressure on the plane would affect his ears since it has always caused me grief, but he was great! It was nice to get away and spend time with a lot of family members Landon had never met. I can't wait to go back in December for Disneyland!

Six Months

Here are the offical stats:

Height: 28.75 inches - 98th percentile

Weight: 18 lbs 5 oz - 63rd percentile

Nice and solid!

The Cup

This week we decided to introduce Landon to the cup. He has always loved drinking water from our cups and water bottles. He did pretty well. We have to fill it really full because he doesn't quite have the concept of tipping the cup up for the water to come out. It's really cute when we bring out 'his' cup- he gets really excited and starts reaching for it. The moment we give it to him he practically slams it into his mouth.

Kisses and waves

This last week we have been working with Landon on giving kisses and waving to us. He has been watching Baby Einstein, First Moves, and he loves it! I highly recommend it. It definitely helped teach him how to wave. He is getting really good at kisses. If we lay him on his belly and we pucker our lips he will lean right in, open-mouth and all, and plant one on us. Last night was the first time he really started waving. We were at our friend's house and he was sitting on my lap- Keilah was on the computer and he turned to her and started waving his hand. Then he started waving at Jeremy and Steve. It was the cutest thing. The best however was when we got home. I was nursing him right before he went to bed, and he pulled off all of a sudden, looked up at me, grinned, and started waving. It was the absolute best thing. I of course totally teared up. They say you are really emotional when you are pregnant- but I would have to say it's even worse once your baby is finally here. I will try and put a video up of his new tricks for our family.

Updates

Sorry to all of our family for not updating our blog. I know it has been forever. Here is a little recap of the last month and a half. I also have pictures from Papa's surprise 50th birthday and Landon's first Mariners game that I will put up asap... (they are on a different camera that is currently not in our possession).

First vacation to Montana for Great Grandma and Grandpa Steven's 50th wedding anniversary. Landon did awesome for the 8 1/2 hour car ride. We only had to stop once- and that's because I had to use the bathroom!

At the rest stop on the way there.

Sitting with cousins on family picture day.

Family BBQ our first night in Montana.

Hanging with dad before going to the lake.

Jeremy with two of his sisters.

Landon hanging out with Grandma Debbie and his new frog.

After the anniversay weekend, we drove over to Hamilton to visit with the Klippenstein side of the family.

Landon with cousin Cassandra.

Sleeping in the giant bears at the Three Bears Cafe. Here are some things Baby Landon does now...

-Grabs and holds onto his toys

-Grabs at our hands and food when we eat

-LOVES to drink water. He grabs at our cups and pulls them to his mouth to drink ALL the time. It's pretty much impossible to eat or drink anything with him on our laps now.

-Laughs out loud

-Loves to "talk" to his daddy

-Loves to stand and sit up- he is getting pretty good at sitting by himself.

-LOVES pulling hair- especially if it's dark

-Still sleeps really well. Not like he used to, but we can thank his new teeth for that.

-Starting to scoot on his hands and knees. He is in the 90th percentile for both height and weight coming in at 15 lbs 1oz and almost 26 inches long. His head circumference ranks in the 80th percentile, so it's not as small as I thought. :) After doing some research and talking with my parents regarding immunizations, Jeremy and I opted not to give Landon the Hep B shot as well as the ROTA virus shot. Our pediatrician totally agreed with our decision which was really nice. They have a shot where it's like a three for one deal. We were really happy that Landon only had to endure one instead of three. I was totally prepared to cry my eyes out, but he took it like a champ! He cried for about 20 seconds and then it was over. By the time we reached the lobby, he was all smiles and sucking on his hand. We are so grateful to have such a happy littly guy. No more shots for awhile!

Happy 4th!

For Landon's first 4th we took him to Lynnwood High School to watch the fireworks show. Jeremy and I along with friends and family have gone to the fireworks show at LHS for years. Unfortunately this was our last year because there will be no more Lynnwood High School next year. Jeremy and I were a little worried on how Landon would handle the fireworks since he is kind of a wimp when it comes to loud noises. He did surprisingly well until the end- then he kind of lost it. Poor little guy got a mosquito bite the size of a nickel on his cheek too! (See pic below). Next year I'm sure he will have a better time.

The aftermath...look at that thing- it's huge!

Father's Day

I know I'm a week late, but here are some pictures from Jeremy's first Father's Day. He turned two months old yesterday and is growing up so fast. He is such a happy baby- very active and social. Yes, he still is quite a sleeper- averaging a good eights hours every night In the morning is when he is the happiest and smiles the most. Sometimes he smiles so big that he causes himself to start coughing. I can't wait until the real laughing starts. Jeremy is the best at making him "laugh" but I still say he is a mommy's boy...and we all know why that is!

Jeremy has been really busy with insurance, the hot dog stand in Seattle, coaching the church softball team, and starting up the city league softball team in June. What an eventful weekend it was! Jeremy's mom flew in late Wednesday night from California. Jeremy and I decided to drive down to the airport with Marchelle and surprise his mom since she had yet to see Landon. She just ate him up! He definitely was a spoiled baby this weekend. Friday Jeremy's sister Cristin flew in from Colorado with her two kids Damon and Ella. Damon just fell in love with baby Landon. He hardly let him out of his sight all weekend. Pretty much my job all weekend was the "feeding" machine. When Landon was hungry he was passed off to me and the minute he was done, grandma, aunties, or the cousins had him. He definitely was the center of attention all weekend. I will have to say the highlight of the weekend was Landon actually rolled over! Unfortunately we didn't get it on video, but Cristin was able to catch just a couple of shots in the middle of his roll. He is such a strong baby. He will hold his head up for minutes at at time. We were so excited that he was able to roll over at only three weeks old, but my mom reminded me that the faster he progresses, the sooner he will be into everything! It's crazy how fast he is growing! Instead of writing in depth about our weekend, here are pictures from the last few days.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324413350814101746" style="FLOAT: left; It's amazing how fast time flies! We are absolutely loving parenthood, especially since he is such a good baby. The kid is awake maybe two hours total out of the entire day. He is getting so big and has just about outgrown all of his newborn clothes. Today was his first full day out and about. It's been really hard for me to get up and leave the house with my cracked tailbone sitch. He had a doctor's appointment this morning at 11:00- just a follow up with the urology specialist after his awful circumcision experience. All is well now. :) Since the doctor was in Kirkland we decided to drive down to Bellevue to show some of Jeremy's old co-workers the baby. After Bellevue we went shopping to Babies R Us and Target. Landon slept the entire five hours which was so nice. Jeremy is really excited for when he can start taking him to Mariner's games. I don't forsee that happening anytime soon though...

Our families are loving our newest addition. My sisters are ecstatic to FINALLY have a boy in the family. Jeremy's mom and sister come up this week for Easter and to see Landon so that will be a lot of fun. We will be sure to post pictures of the festivities. Here are some pictures from the last two weeks.

We got half of a smile!

First day trying out the "binky". Thursday night I helped my mom train some of the girls on her softball team on how to be a catcher. So, I was squatting, jumping up and down, moving side to side, etc. Basically I was the most active I had ever been in the last nine months. Well, that definitely triggered something- I woke up at 4:48 am on Friday morning with my first contraction. I didn't think too much of it. Six minutes later there was another one. I woke up Jeremy and told him that I thought I was having contractions. So, he busts out the stop watch and starts timing them. Sure enough, five minutes later another one came, and another, and so one. After about 30 minutes they started coming four minutes apart and then three. So, we called the hospital and they told us to head on in asap. We only live 15 minutes from the hospital, but by the time we got there my contractions were only two minutes apart. Since I had been told that once I went into labor it was going to go really quick form me, I was worried I was too late for an epidural. We got to the hospital a little after 6:30am and met my mom there. I was dilated to six centimeters and my cervix was 100% effaced and ready to go. They quickly called the anethesiologist to administer my epidural. Apparently, I have a little bit of scoliosis that I didn't know about so it was a little tricky getting the epidural in and centered. Finally after about 15 torturous minutes it was in. I don't know how women have natural child birth, but I definitely have a new respect for them! After the epidural was in I was a happy camper. However I was dilating really fast and was about 9 1/2 centimeters around 11:30. My midwife wanted Landon to work his way down as far as possible before I started to push, so pushing didn't begin until 12:30. 40 minutes later he was out! It was an amazing experience. Definitely a lot easier than I ever thought it would be. I was told that I am lucky to have such a fast labor for a first time mom and that my body is built for delivering babies. That was all Jeremy needed to hear from the nurses and doctor- he is already talking about baby number two! Help! The only bad thing that happened is my tailbone cracked because he was a big boy and came so quickly. Thankfully after three miserable days I was finally given some strong medication to deal with the pain. Other than that, things are going great and we feel so blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy. He is beautiful and we absolutely adore him. Here are some pictures of our little guy but they definitely don't do him justice. :)

We love his little old man face!

Yet another baby update...

Yesterday Jeremy and I had another weekly doctor appointment. It looks like in the past week I've dilated another centimeter. So, as of right now I am about 100% effaced and 3 centimeters. I was surprised to have made any progress considering I sat on my butt all last week. Due date still stands at any day. I'm trying to take it easy until Friday- my last day of work. All of my co-workers are worried something is going to happen before then, but I'm feeling pretty good. We are just so ready for this little guy to come out! Jeremy wakes up in the morning and asks, "Did he come yet?" He's just a little anxious, can you tell? His anxiety is even worse now that baby Carson has been born. He told me yesterday this is ten times worse than waiting for Christmas to come. We will continue to keep everyone posted. My poor mom has been sick with the flu so she's made me promise that we don't have the baby before Wednesday. So after tomorrow, you better believe I am going to be jumping on a trampoline, doing jumping jacks and running for miles!

Another Baby Update

So, yesterday Jeremy and I had our 36 week appointment. Over the last week or so I've started to have somewhat painful contractions. Nothing serious and I didn't think much of it. Well, at our appointment yesterday we found out that baby Landon is definitely coming early! I am already 95-100% effaced and two centimeters dialated. Our doctor said I am going to have a super fast labor, which was great to hear. She said he could come in two days or he could come in two weeks, but he will definitely be here before March 22nd. Jeremy and I are really excited to know he is coming early but I'm not getting my hopes up that he will be here right away. I would like him to wait at least another week so his lungs will be fully developed, but it's all on his time. We will be sure to keep everyone posted!

ABC's

Two blogs in a week, can you believe it?

A-attached or single: attached
B-best friends: the hubby of course!
C-cake or pie: cheesecake
D-day of choice: Saturdays or Sundays
E-essential item(s): cellphone, my suitcase (aka- my purse), lip liner
F-favorite color: Red
G-gummy worms or bears: worms
H-hometown: Seattle
I-indulgence: peanut butter m&m's, peanut buster parfaits
J-January or July: July
K-kids: 6 1/2 weeks away!
L-life is incomplete without: family
M-marriage date: March 1st, 2008
N-number of siblings: five sisters
O-oranges or apples: Apples
P-phobias or fears: spiders
Q-quotes: "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it."
R-reasons to smile: we're having a baby next month!
S-season: Hmm...I adore Christmas, but after the last snow storms, I'm going to have to say summer.
T-tag friends: Sarah & Keilah
U-unknown fact about me: I have a terrible guilty conscience
V-very favorite store: Target
W-worst habit: Procrastinating
X-x-ray, ultrasound, or mammogram: ultrasound. :) (What a weird question)
Y-your favorite food: Enchiladas, guacamole, bacon cheeseburgers and cheesecake
Z- Zodiac: Pisces

Ugh....here you go...

Ok friends, FINALLY here is a very pregnant picture of myself at 32 weeks. I am now 33 weeks and will work on posting updated pictures soon. My mother-in-law took pictures last week while Jeremy and I were visiting for his sister's birthday. Now, do you see why I have not posted any pictures?

Quick update on our lives-
Jeremy started his insurance classes this last week and is really enjoying them. It's amazing how much information they cram into these classes. The poor guy looks like he's run a marathon after each one. He's doing really well and I'm proud of him. So, if anyone needs home/car/life insurance let him know!

Baby continues to grow. In my last post I talked about possibly having my due date moved up. Well, after an ultrasound to see the size of the baby, it was determined that the baby was perfect in size- it's just me. Apparently I just have a huge belly. Thankfully my stomach has slowed in growing. At our 32-week appointment I was only measuring a week ahead of schedule at 33-weeks. Our next appointment is February 9th- hopefully I will be right on schedule. We did find out that baby is in the breech position, but the doctor informed me he has PLENTY of room to drop into position. We are hoping in the next week or two. It would really be nice to breath again...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_y-vuh8Es_XY/SYM4p7QgQyI/AAAAAAAAAFE/Zoyqan9ssDI/s200/prego+shot+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297139879650542370" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_y-vuh8Es_XY/SYM5Sz4EM7I/AAAAAAAAAFk/o_jihui-odo/s200/prego+shot+2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297140582043628466" />
Jeremy loves talking to the baby. Last appointment the baby was measuring big by a couple of weeks- now, he is measuring at 32 weeks! The doctor made me schedule an ultrasound asap so we can find out how big this little guy really is. It would be nice to be given an earlier due date. If it's four weeks from our original date of March 22nd, that would mean he will be born on my birthday, February 21st! We will find out for sure on Monday. I know I keep promising to post pictures and I will...as soon as Jeremy and I can figure out what is wrong with the camera. Just be patient with me. :)

Update

Ok, as promised here is the Klippenstein update. Right now I am currently seven months along. Baby is measuring big by a few weeks, so Jeremy and I are hoping for an earlier due date. We will find out during our next appointment on Dec. 30th. However, it looks like my dreams of having a nice 7 pound baby are out the window. My boss told me it's not like picking out turkeys- I'm gonna get what I get. :)

Life has been flying by with Christmas just around the corner. Thankfully I got most of my Christmas shopping done early this year thanks to 14 hours of shopping on Black Friday. It's a good thing to, because it is getting harder and harder to wrap presents. The baby sits so high that it is nearly impossible to bend or lean over. Jeremy has had to tie my shoes and help me put my socks on for the last several weeks. It's a little ridiculous.

We are so excited for Christmas. It's hard to believe that it is just three days away. We got our tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it is perfect. We have had a great time decorating and putting lights up everywhere. I must say, Jeremy is quite the interior decorator. I am very impressed. It's hard to believe that next year we will be celebrating the holidays with a nine month old baby!

*I am having trouble uploading all our photos, so I will have to do it tomorrow at work. It will get done, I promise!

New Leaf

Ok, I know that I totally stink at blogging. We had been counting down for weeks for this day. Our appointment was at 1:00. Jeremy took the day off but I worked a 1/2 day. I wish we would have made our appointment for first thing in the morning because the wait was brutal. I kept glancing at the clock on my computer every ten minutes. Anyway, we got to the doctor and we were the only people there so that was nice. The ultrasound tech was fabulous. She was able to tell us the sex within the first two minutes. Jeremy was so excited. He threw his hands up in the air, pumped his fists and shouted, "I did my job!" I was just a little embarassed. :) We have to go back for another ultrasound in two weeks because our little guy was moving around too much for the technician to take some of the necessary measurements. The technician said he is measuring in the 65th percentile, so I was happy about that. No 10 pound baby for me, thanks! We got a few pictures, including a very clear shot of his "equipment". I will be sure to post those up ASAP. We were also given a dvd of the ultrasound so we are very excited to have that keepsake. After the ultrasound we headed to Bellevue to begin shopping! Jeremy and I cheated and did some shopping before we knew the sex. So the baby already had three outfits and three pairs of shoes. Managing a shoe store, Jeremy could not help himself. Needless to say, I'm glad we don't have to return any of the items we bought since they were all for a baby boy. :) Jeremy went a little crazy in the baby department at Macy's. We finally go to the point where we had to put our hands up and shield our eyes on the walk up to the register, so we wouldn't be distracted. I will definitely be sure to take some pictures of the beginning of our baby's large wardrobe. With Jeremy working so close to Children's Place, Macy's and Baby Gap- we are in trouble!

Wii Fit

Sunday night Jeremy and I went over to Sarah and James' house to play Wii and eat pumpkin pie. They have the new Wii fit and Jeremy and I had never tried it before. I had heard it was really neat. We loved it! In one hour of playing Jeremy lost 1.8 pounds. It was a workout! There was one hula hoop game that Jeremy especially liked and was really good at. We all gave it a shot to see how many times we could hoop in 1 minute 30 seconds. Jeremy won with 300. I didn't even break 100- but, we don't really need to get into that. Thanks to Sarah, there is a great little video on her blog of us hula hooping. Please keep in mind when watching that I am pregnant...
http://thedayiswhatyoumakeofit.blogspot.com/

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_y-vuh8Es_XY/SOPCZBpl3KI/AAAAAAAAAEE/jTOtjLZbca8/s200/j+hooping" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252255325639531682" />

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_y-vuh8Es_XY/SOPCfe8Q8NI/AAAAAAAAAEM/lMd8rsfz8Sk/s200/j+hooping+2" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252255436581695698" />

Tag

Tag from Keilah- here we go...

4 Random Things I Love About My Husband

1. We had a really great time. The six of us hadn't been out together in awhile. I actually ended up having a pretty good night of bowling! Maybe it's because I finally was able to get out of the house. I have practically lived on couch the last 2 1/2 months with morning sickness. I don't know why they call it morning sickness- it's more like 24 hour sickness. Anyway, now that the second trimester has hit, I'm starting to feel more like myself. I was actually able to eat some chocolate today for the first time in ten weeks! Oh, it was heaven. So, back to Saturday's festivities- that day I spent over at my parent's house hanging out with my mom and sisters. Jeremy had left earlier that morning with my dad to go watch high school football games at Qwest field. Every week they go watch high school football together with my grandpa. It's a man thing. Jeremy picked me up at 8:45 and we headed to the bowling alley. Keilah had previously arranged a lane for us and had put down a deposit to hold our spot. There was a little bit of drama getting started, but Keilah took care of it. :) So, we bowled for a couple of hours and had a great time. It actually turned into cosmic bowling which Jeremy had never done before, so that was fun. Jeremy and I ended up winning the coveted prize of McDonald's chocolate dipped cones. Jeremy bowls well all the time, but I was so proud I finally scored in the triple digits! Jeremy and I forgot our camera, but here are some pictures from Sarah.

The Klippenstein's are now part of the blogging world!

Ok, after months of constant "Sam, you guys really should start a blog..." we are finally doing it! Sarah is going to be so proud...
With a baby on the way and family spread throughout several states, we figured this was a great way to keep everyone updated on what is going on in our lives. Plus, everyone is doing it!
Married life has been fabulous thus far :). We are expecting a little one to join our family on March 21st and we are ecstatic! Baby was definitely a little sooner than anticipated but we absolutely cannot wait! We will post more soon, so stay tuned!

*Here is a picture from our first ultrasound on 8/18 at 9 1/2 weeks. It was such an awesome experience to watch the little guy/girl dancing and moving around. It's amazing how much you can see so early on. Jeremy likes to call he/her "Stubs" because at that time the little arms and legs were just starting to form. Our friend Joe thinks it looks more like a gummy bear. I would have to agree.
