He's Here!!!!

He is finally here! Thursday night I helped my mom train some of the girls on her softball team on how to be a catcher. So, I was squatting, jumping up and down, moving side to side, etc. Basically I was the most active I had ever been in the last nine months. Well, that definitely triggered something- I woke up at 4:48 am on Friday morning with my first contraction. I didn't think too much of it. Six minutes later there was another one. I woke up Jeremy and told him that I thought I was having contractions. So, he busts out the stop watch and starts timing them. Sure enough, five minutes later another one came, and another, and so one. After about 30 minutes they started coming four minutes apart and then three. So, we called the hospital and they told us to head on in asap. We only live 15 minutes from the hospital, but by the time we got there my contractions were only two minutes apart. Since I had been told that once I went into labor it was going to go really quick form me, I was worried I was too late for an epidural. We got to the hospital a little after 6:30am and met my mom there. I was dilated to six centimeters and my cervix was 100% effaced and ready to go. They quickly called the anethesiologist to administer my epidural. Apparently, I have a little bit of scoliosis that I didn't know about so it was a little tricky getting the epidural in and centered. Finally after about 15 torturous minutes it was in. I don't know how women have natural child birth, but I definitely have a new respect for them! After the epidural was in I was a happy camper. However I was dilating really fast and was about 9 1/2 centimeters around 11:30. My midwife wanted Landon to work his way down as far as possible before I started to push, so pushing didn't begin until 12:30. 40 minutes later he was out! It was an amazing experience. Definitely a lot easier than I ever thought it would be. I was told that I am lucky to have such a fast labor for a first time mom and that my body is built for delivering babies. That was all Jeremy needed to hear from the nurses and doctor- he is already talking about baby number two! Help! The only bad thing that happened is my tailbone cracked because he was a big boy and came so quickly. Thankfully after three miserable days I was finally given some strong medication to deal with the pain. Other than that, things are going great and we feel so blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy. He is beautiful and we absolutely adore him. Here are some pictures of our little guy but they definitely don't do him justice. :)

We love his little old man face!

Yet another baby update...

Yesterday Jeremy and I had another weekly doctor appointment. It looks like in the past week I've dilated another centimeter. So, as of right now I am about 100% effaced and 3 centimeters. I was surprised to have made any progress considering I sat on my butt all last week. Due date still stands at any day. I'm trying to take it easy until Friday- my last day of work. All of my co-workers are worried something is going to happen before then, but I'm feeling pretty good. We are just so ready for this little guy to come out! Jeremy wakes up in the morning and asks, "Did he come yet?" He's just a little anxious, can you tell? His anxiety is even worse now that baby Carson has been born. He told me yesterday this is ten times worse than waiting for Christmas to come. We will continue to keep everyone posted. My poor mom has been sick with the flu so she's made me promise that we don't have the baby before Wednesday. So after tomorrow, you better believe I am going to be jumping on a trampoline, doing jumping jacks and running for miles!
